Midnight Flight

CND Shellac blues Midnight Flight swatch comparison by Fee Wallace

Midnight Flight is a classic winter navy with a gentle metallic base beneath its deep gloss finish. Not as ‘sparkly’ as Midnight Swim, yet deeper and darker compared to Peacock Plume.

For a fun Xmas touch, dab on a little nail art foil, it will stick to the top film of the cured Shellac colour layer, then finish with CND Shellac Original Top Coat. I recommend :YOURS Foil Turquoise Tempest and the deeper blue :YOURS Foil Azure Oasis to compliment CND Shellac Midnight Flight.

Scarlet Letter

Scarlet Letter is a dramatic classic, and happens to be my favourite red nail shade OF ALL TIME! It’s beautiful applied simply as a bold red nail, but is also amazing for hand painting. So if you are planning some festive character details as part of your Shellac services this festive season, Scarlet Letter is a great choice.

For a luxurious touch, add an edge of drama with :YOURS Foil Scarlet Symphony pressed on to the sticky top film of the cured Shellac colour layer, then finish with CND Shellac Top Coat.

Poison Plum

CND Shellac purples Poison Plum swatch comparison by Fee Wallace

Poison Plum… what a divisive shade! This Shellac colour has been brought back, like the ghost of Christmas past. Whether you remember it from last time around, or are trying it for the first time this season, here are a few tips to getting a flawless application with CND Shellac Poison Plum.
– Shake the bottle extra thoroughly to fully blend the product before each use.
– Use smooth, parallel brush strokes to avoid dragging colour and sparkle back off the nail.
– Before curing, take a moment to check the edges, making sure there is no glitter poking out into the free margin between the colour and the skin, or around the free-edge of the nail.

Poison Plum is worth that little extra attention during application though, as the sparkle filled deep plum-purple gloss will delight your clients and catch attention. If you want to crank it up even more, dab on a little :YOURS Foil Cotton Candy, which compliments it beautifully!

Frostbite

CND Shellac metallic Frostbite swatch comparison by Fee Wallace

All my Christmases have come at one with this shade! CND Shellac Frostbite is UNREAL. This is one of those unusual shades that looks different from different angles. It’s ideal for layering and nail designs where we carve with a Dotting Tool through an uncured layer of colour to a cured layer of a different colour beneath. You’ll see just how different it is from other colours in the range with a similar vibe, such as Patina Buckle.

Forevergreen

CND Shellac greens Forevergreen swatch comparison by Fee Wallace

Forevergreen, a wonderful seasonal dark green with a subtle PINK sparkle! Such an unusual combo, but it works. This is a real treat for your clients who enjoy a dark shade over the festive season. Forevergreen is something deep and different, and will work well as part of festive themed manicure.

Try adding a deconstructed shimmering pink french tip with :YOURS Element Flakes MARS. Use a soft, dry brush, press a little of the flakes on to the top film of the cured Shellac colour layer and finish with CND Shellac Original Top Coat.

It’s Getting Golder

CND Shellac golds It's Getting Golder swatch comparison by Fee Wallace

Its Getting Golder is so rich and warm! Heavily metallic, and although similar in texture to Get That Gold, you’ll see from the picture that this shade is more orange, more bronze and less of a yellow-gold. I have actually used this shade a lot in Halloween nail designs, pairing it with the beautiful autumnal Silky Sienna

I love to apply CND Shellac Matte Top Coat over heavily metallic colours like Its Getting Golder, especially with a bit of :YOURS Foil added into the mix. CND Shellac Matte Top Coat specifically, changes the texture of foil and metallic shades in a way that other gel polish matte top coats just don’t. It’s incredible.
